This is the b****** that stole my suet feeder from the dogwood tree in front of my house. In th picture, he's heading down the EXACT branch where it was hanging.

Obywan, I've got some good squirrel gravy recipes that taste especially good on biscuits for breakfast!

I don't think that is a b******. That appears to be a female squirrel so that would make her a b****, or, more properly in squirrel terminology a, "sow". Male squirrels are called a, "boar".

Jedi Master Thornius feels a great disturbance in the Force as if millions of sow squirrels had suddenly cried out

Actually, I love squirrels as much as I love birds. I was a squirrel hunter for years but after my guns were destroyed in a house fire at about the same time I started getting interested in birding and nature photography, I gave up hunting for food and took up photography. The same thrill for me, much less injury to both parties (Although I do STILL LOVE a good slab o' venison or squirrel gravy over biscuits!) I now have two squirrels in my yard I feed daily and often go to Centennial Park or the Vanderbilt University Campus to feed the EXTREMELY tame and FRIENDLY squirrels there.

I was implying that I would be the one doing the hunting, although I'm not a hunter either. I really don't hate squirrels, they just annoy me when they steal my suet feeders.

I think I've had squirrel once. I think I liked it all right. I just had some AWESOME venison stew though. Maybe I should be post the recipe.

You make squirrel gravy the same way you make sausage gravy, with flour, milk, and the grease and bits of squirrel meat left over from frying squirrel. I've eaten squirrel many times but don't care much for it EXCEPT in the gravy.

MANY birders become dove, quail and duck hunters during their local hunting seasons. The founder of the Tennessee Ornithological Society was a FANATICAL duck hunter. I know this because his son, a phenomenal birder and duck hunter himself, was my fathers best friend and college roomate. Until I was twelve years old I thought this man was my ACTUAL Uncle. And we remained close until his death about 3 years ago. HE was the earliest influence on me when it came to both birding AND hunting. His name was George Mayfield III. At least two of his sons are now prominent naturalists/birders around the US now.
