There is a tree in my grammys yard she thinks it's poisin sumac, i think its sumac because there is is not a swampy or boggy area and the soil is very well drained the berrys are balck when all the laves fall off.... I tried looking up what the trees look like but they only give the leaves so i will take a pic tomorrow, but anyways i want to know what it is because it's a very prtty tree and its sending shoots (iguess from suckers) all over the yard so imma take a couple and plant them in my yard.... but if its posin i don't want it, but ive pruned it before and touched it and i have no reaction and im a person that is very very allergic to posin ivy and oak usually have to have my hands straped down from scrathching, lol.... so i don't think its poisin but any insight will be great ill have pics tomorrow same for the magnolia tree prob...

there is a sumac that isn't in the poison category (not part of the poison "3" sumac, oak, ivy). i don't remember what it looks like, but it is different from poison sumac. but it may still be poisonous to ingest.

Poison Oak and Poison Ivy which once were under the genus RHUS have been reclassified as TOXICODENDRON.

Look up RHUS

thank you by looking at the pics i think it is a smooth sumac because the leaves look exactly the same and the shape of the berrys look the same, well now i know i guess it's not poininus? if it gets on my skin? Oh also i classified another plant growing wild i think its the Sugar bush aka Chaparral Sumac im take some of both the sugar bush makes a white flower that is so pretty and it smells good too i think, my grandma has so much plants im digging those up, im getting another snow on the mountain, (finally getting the confedrate rose bush) and also im getting a hedge trimmer and extra one she had ours broke... but yes, im also taking some periwinkle, and some wild flowers and maybe some star flowers, so it looks like im going to be doing some more digging! lol, but again i will have to take pics so you all can tell me if i am wrong, i didn't get to take anytoday ive just been tooo busy!

Not to change the subject, but I've been hunting for a confederate rose. We bought some off ebay that came as bare root plants, but they never did anything. So I'm not even sure that what they were. You can't buy them in the local nurseries around here for some reason, and my husband really wants one for our yard. If someone can tell me where to get my hands on one....

Thanks,
Annette
