From the FAQ section, which can be found in the same line across the top where "my stuff" is located--where you go into your PM's.

What are these titles about?

If you get a special title under your name then that is very special indeed....a gift from Bill---he gives special titles from time to time as they fit with a person.

why does one name a farm? Did it come with the name? I have lived here all my life and never thought about naming it. My great grand parents bought the land, but no one has ever named it.

There's a yard where I stop and dig daffodils, I have named that place the daffodil house, it's covered in daffodils and I stop there every year and cut some for Ashley's teacher. That's where I get alot of my daffodils, they won't be there much longer they have started tearing the old house down,

well I'm gonna go fix me some tuna, my blood sugar is trying to drop on me, I'll catch y'all later

Well, we named our farm mainly because we raise registered horses.. and we use the name on their registrations.. the name came to us because our whole creek is lined with willow trees.

I love the name Bill gave me. People think it's because I'm a Patriots fan but it's not. It's because I'm a fan of the United States of America.

The gnome knows.....the names just fit us perfect.

I'm still laughing over the 'nut farm' remark.. lol

Here privately owned farms are named with your surname but the dairy farms have unique names that have been used through all the generations.

I don't think I would WANT to call my farm the Nut Farm. nono Our farm name is no different for us and our horse registrations than those who raise dogs and have a kennel name or those who raise cats and have a cattery name.

I am not sure I understand what the big deal is. why There are MANY farms around here that are named.

I agree--many farms around here are named also--as a matter of fact many pieces of property are named. I think some people name their land for business reasons & some jsut do it because they want to.

every one has 100's of acres of cotton, soy beans and rice here and some do name the farms but when they do it's usually a family name

Hmm.. thanks you guys.. and Suzydaze, I guess I just took your questioning the farm name thing the wrong way.. I kind of felt like you were making fun of the fact that our farm has a name.. why And maybe it does seem funny to you, but in our area... it is quite common.. especially in the horse breeding business. shots

oh no, not at all. I'm from the south and everyone knows the big plantations use to all have names (a family name), and most of the really big ones named the town the same name, it's just usually someone's last name down here.

Like (and this one is close to where I live) Wilson plantation, they dropped the plantation part and now that entire area is the town of Wilson and it's still family owned and they still raise cotton. It is a town and it is on the map. And Wilson is their family name. They own the entire town and sub lease the buildings and stuff.

There are places around me that can't be classified as a "farm", but are named anyway. The bigger properties are anyway. Somebody bought the land across the road from us and it's only about 2 acres and they named it the "New Life Community Farm". They are living in teepees, and trying to clear some of it by hand. Go figure...

where else would they go if they're living in tents. Isn't there some type of ordinance about things like that nowadays?

Well, I don't think the fact of them living in teepees will cut my property values as much as the clear cutting that's going on at the property right next to them. It sure has decreased the value of the view, in our opinion.

As far as the bathroom issue, I don't know. There ARE some of the little port-a-potty things that you can get for camping...maybe they have one of those? And as for ordinances, we are out in the country and I don't think the county has any for something like that. I mean, it wouldn't be any different than backpacking in somewhere to camp and having to dig a hole and bury the waste, right?
