Diane was wondering not too long ago what squirrels nests look like, when one was tearing apart her cushion on her patio. We finally have a nice enough day for me to get some pictures of a nest here...

To show how far up the squirrels here build their nests so most predators cannot reach them...
see the red ring around the nest?

Yep I see it Lynne and we have nothing at all in our trees,, so the rascal must be hiding somewhere,, I've seen several of those in trees around this area But none in our trees,, our trees are bare and not that tall so I can see the top clearly,

you'd think they'd freeze after all the leaves fall off the tree

I try to take one day at a time -- but sometimes several days attack me at once.

there are squirrels that nest closer to the ground, but lynne has a great picture of a good nest. and yes, loz, they can nest in holes, but the holes have to be pretty big for them to because they still build a nest in the hole.

I was very surprised when I first found out they were squirrel's nests too, loz! The way they rob my birdseed though, I wish they would nest somewhere else far, far away...

I just have one little squirrel friend around me here.....he runs up and down the fence a lot between my house and my neighbors....caught him on my birdfeeder quite a few times. lol He's pretty cute though, and I don't mind him too much.
