Since loz was talking about doing yard work today, I decided to take my camera out with me when I went to get the mail. It was a very nice 55 degrees outside, so I walked around the perimeter of the house, making sure not to get my shoes too wet in the snow that is still out there.

I was very surprised to see so many plants had poked their leaves out of the ground already!

First there were some hyacinths...

next some tulips

and a centaurea montana is leafing out...

Next I saw some sedum that was greening up...

And yellow irises popping up in front of the chimney...

And I was VERY GLAD to see that it looks like these 2 Colorado Spruces made it through the winter in the pots that I bought them in - I didn't have time to plant them last fall before the ground got too hard, and was afraid I'd have to return them to Home Depot. I put them under the second story deck - looks like they were buffered just enough - at least I hope so!

It surely did, Diane, BUT... while we are supposed to be in the mid 50's again tomorrow, it is not supposed to be a nice day, and the temperatures are going to drop 20 degrees the following day!!! Enough already!

our weird weather, it was 68 here this morning, so like Lynne I took my camera around for a walk

along my drive, some blubs coming up

and along the ditch, I have ditch lilies planted here too but they are just barely up

I did find this little guy up

and now it's dropped to 44 and pouring rain has poured all day long
