I saw these gorgeous huge flowers the other day. They're not wild; someone unknown planted it. I believe it's a vegetable of somekind, but I'm uncertain what it is exactly. It has large, broad leaves. The flowers are about 8 to 10 cm across. Here's the link:
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee
Thanks for the warm welcome, Dodge. Actually, I used to hang around here a lot some time last year -- always asking for help with plant identifications. I've been very busy, and hence the reason why I was away for quite a while.

Now I agree only half way in what comes to us. That is true in life and gods work.
But in service preformed by mankind which we pay for, and they get paid. It should come to us.
I send something to California cross country the fartherist from Penna. 3 days is all it takes. I send mail to someone in Arkansas or texas, it take a week. Now that is a different story.. I hate when I dissappoint nml like that.
Personally, I think, we just have to try our best, and hope for the best. And if things don't turn out the way we want to, then, it's okay -- just never give up. *lol* Reminds me of Dory in 'Finding Nemo' when she says, "Keep on swimming, keep on swimming.." Love that fish!
