Then a sign popped up . It said to the man, Your License to test auto's has expired.. Ho Ho Ho ..Luck of ther Irish for sure. Now my car isnt inspected. He has to go to renew his License. they don't inspect here anymore, but you are required to have insurance on it. And then through the year they sit up check points and write tickets if you have a bulb out or something else unsafe with the car.

We have to have insurance but that is about it. If they pull you over for having a light out or something they will give you a warning first and then they eventually will give you a ticket if you don't get it fixed but that is about it! I sure am glad we don't have to have an inspection. Just one more thing to pay for!!

Wow, I didn't know there were states that don't require inspection on vehicles.

I know that we have to have ours inspected here in MD. And I believe in WV they have to have it done once a year.

I mean it isn't fun paying for repairs when you fail inspection but I think that in theory it's a good idea to make sure everyone is running a safe vehicle. thumbup

One thing they dont want is folkd in puddle jumpers riding down the highway and causing accidents.. The highways would be littered with junk autos.. Our police tag any car settin on the road too long .
It is helpful in that respect.......And probably safer.

they use to do inspections here, but they don't anymore. I',m not sure when they stoppe, but I figure they make more money doing these spot inspections

They tag cars sitting on the highway here too.

We have never had to have car inspections as far as I know. Not for as long as I have been driving anyways. I agree that it could be a good thing. Are we the only state that doesn't require it?? (Maybe others here can comment on whether they have to have it done or not why)

Don't all states require insurance?

I just switched Mark to comprehensive coverage when he finally got his truck paid off....saving that little bit of money each month is nice. thumbup And I put mine from comprehensive to liability, because it's been broke down forever now and hasn't moved. lol

We don't have inspections here, but we do have emissions testing every 2 years. When you go to get your oil changed they test all your lights and turn signals for you but that's as close as we get to inspection.

we pay that for (or just about that) for each of ours too. Here you have to have at least the liabitiy. When I had one broke down for a while I cancelled the insurance. It was just sitting in the yard

We pay $810 a year for our 2 vehicles....with liabilty only on mine, and comprehensive on Mark. We don't have accidents against us, and we are supposedly getting pioneer discounts, and a discount for having our homeowners policy thru the company. Had the same company for 11 years now. I pay monthly from December to August, then we get Sept, Oct, Nov off from paying.

My car is broke down, hasn't run forever and Mark thinks it's on it's last legs. It's an older Ford Probe. If you look in Gardeners Chat at the New Stuff topic you can sorta see it in the trellis pic, it's white. I might just give it to my nephew and see if he wants to fix it up.....at least that way we wouldn't be paying insurance on a vehicle that is not running right now. rspb

When they say you are getting all of those discounts I think they are lying. lol Never seems like it's going down ever.

I think you are right about the discounts. i think they just add that at the end AFTER the decide on the premium--so you will THINK you are paying less.

Like a few weeks ago--we get this letter from our car ins company in the mail telling all their customers that NOW they will be issueing multi policy discounts to their customers---

that would of been great news IF they had not of been telling me I was getting that very discount for at least 2 years now. rolz why
