A 15 foot crane fell in NYC this afternoon, and crashed into a 5 story building, just 2 blocks from where Don's sister lives! "At least 3 people are dead right now, and people are missing." They are conducting a rescue operation right now.

Good thing Don didn't go visit his sister while Amy is in music school in the city today.

Thanks all - of course the media is hyping it up, saying that people were running around like on 9-11. Don't these people have any feelings for the families of those involved - jeeeeze!

OOOPS - didn't mean to say 15 foot crane - that's not nearly as big as it was - it was actually 19 stories high or so, depending on which newscast you hear it on...

I pretty much understood that. A 15 ft crane would have done some damage to a house maybe but not what you were describing.

yes, Carol - last night they said that the 4 dead were construction workers, but there also was a woman missing. I haven't heard any news about it today.

What a shame....I've been following it on the news as well. One station said now 3 are missing~2 women and a construction worker.
