I got out in the yard today to do a little cleaning up and weedeating and was really surprised at all the little green things poking through!

And all this after we woke up to snow on Monday and frost on Tuesday! The cannas aren't up yet, but the elephant ears are sending up lots of new shoots. The scarlet wigela has a few green leaves, not sure if it will bloom this year, can't wait to find out! The creeping flox are blooming out well and my ditchline is full of Heal's All, which I didn't have the heart to cut down with the weedeater this morning, even though its supposed to be a "weed".

Geez, I want to dig up half my yard and plant stuff! This weather makes me crazy.

It is so exciting to see the green stuff appear after the winter. My tall garden phlox is just beginning to show as are the peonies, coneflowers, delphenium, and the black eyed susans. Some of the lilies are just getting ready to break the surface, and the lupine are showing several sets of leaves. I won't take the leaf cover off yet as it could still get pretty cold and even snow until the 2nd week in April.

I try to take one day at a time -- but sometimes several days attack me at once.

I know you're all way ahead of me in zone-time but all your green stuff is making me anxious as well. Good to see it.
