This was actually from yesterday, but I didn't have time to post then: Brown Thrasher and Flicker on an icy morning. Brown Thrasher preening.

Yeah, I was busy elsewhere and realized I mislabelled my picture. I'll change it. Brown Thrasher, NOT Woodthrush.

You rarely ever see Woodthrushes. I've seen maybe three in nineteen years of birding. Not much to look at, but man-oh-man their VOICES! It's like God's Flute pouring from Heaven!!!! It is by far the MOST beautiful and haunting bird song I have ever heard......and I've heard hundreds. They are not rare birds, just shy and skittish.

I have Woodthrushes here, but I haven't seen any yet this year. Their song makes me think of elves and wood nymphs. It sounds magical.

Wow! I had TONS of birds this afternoon. 3 kinds of finches here: Purple Finch, House Finch, and Goldfinch.

I've never had that many gold finches. I have maybe 3 at a time and they fly away and I guess they come back or their friends come to eat but never so many.
How far away were you when you took that picture? Or did you put on your bird feathers so they wouldn't fly awa.
That dove is quite chubby.

Sheri, I went out to step it off and it was 22 feet from the window to the shepherd's crook.

I took it from inside the house, but I have to be really sneaky and slow or I'll scare them away.

I agree with Dodge, I don't take pics through the screen.
