We bought this house last fall and have a bush about 6 ft. tall with white blooms that look like small white tulip buds and when it opens it has lots of petals.....zone 5.....any suggestions on what it might be? Thanks!

No, sorry I don't have a photo and expecting heavy rain all day tomorrow so won't get one real soon. I have searched several sites and haven't found a photo that looks similar. It has no leaves yet. Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

could it be a white forsythia? that's about all i can think of that's blooming now and that wouldn't have leaves yet.

I believe it is the white forsythia....will get a better look in the morning to compare to photo I found. Thanks Jaclyn!

the white variety is not very common. i've been looking for it for years (i don't like yellow) and still haven't come across it for sale.

if it does turn out to be that, maybe you could send me a piece? i'd pay postage, of course or trade you for something of what i have!

don't azalea's bloom flowers first then get leaves??/ or is it just too early in the morning yet, & i am mistaken???

i've never seen an azalea bloom before sprouting leaves. there are a lot more varieties around these days and i'm sure it's possible with one of the newer cultivars.

tulip magnolia? it blooms first then leafs out.
