Does anyone have experience with propagating a peony with cuttings? I found the stems of my peony (lopped off by a careless weedwhacker) and I've saved them in water, I'm wondering if they'll root. Any suggestions?

I've never heard of using peony leaves for propagation material, the only ways of propagating peony that I know of is either by seed or division
