I love the Solar color changing light stakes but I don't understand that it says has on an off switch. Aren't they supposed to be solar?

I thought solar meant that also?????????We have 2 huge out side lights and dont need lights at all at nite..
On the pole like street lights. One on the barn and one on the garage.
