I rvcd this plant from a friend of a friend about a year ago. It never gets more than 4 leaves at one time. New leaves sprout all the time, but then the oldest one dies off. I doubt that's how this plant is supposed to grow.

That is a castor bean plant. I grow them from seed each year in the garden. They can get quite large (up to 10') and have red prickly berries. If you have a spot in your garden, I would plant it and let it grow. You can always harvest seeds for more plants next year, although you probably won't need to since it's a heavy reseeder. They prefer full sun.

Whoa..... I looked up this plant. I would have never of thougt this little sucker of mine, that has not gotten bigger in a year, would grow THAT big under the right conditions! Didn't know it was so poisonious either. But hey, were not in the habbit of eating seeds around here, so I guess we'll all be just fine. ha ha sounds like I can leave it out during the winter being in zone 9.
Thanks again. it does help to know what your growing and how to grow it.
