The Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology needs YOUR help in Monitoring Bird nest activity. They have created Nest Watch, a site that trains you to monitor bird nests and stores your nesting information online for research. They have a short training session and then turn you lose to look for nests. ANd you don't have to climb to the top of Mt. Everest to do it, either. You can look in your yard or neighborhood. A quick check of my yard this afternoon turned up FIVE nests, all within 50 feet of my front door. None are active at this time, but Cornell wants to know about the old or abandoned nests, too. PM me for the site URL.

No, you will learn what it is by watching it from a distance. I believe that I have two Cardinal nests, a Mourning Dove nest, a House Sparrow nest and two unidentifeied nests that I suspect are either Robin or Eastern Kingbird nests. Both species have nested in that same area before.

And American Robins are one of the target species they have chosen for special interest.

sorry to say the site you PM'd me won't let me sign in. I continue to get this message:

Please check the spelling of your state/province name or abbreviation.

I use the drop down menu to get North Carolina. I've tried several times and I continue to get this message.
