Okay yall here is what went down...

So im ove rhere at my grandmas been here since yesterday morning... Today we went into sebring florida to do some shopping for sunday the whole fmailys coming over to get together and have some fun and make a garbage can turkey (its the moistest turkey youll ever eat) And omg we got all ove rour shopping done except a few things so after we had some lunch we went to the other parking lot to go into windixe got that shopiing done and then when we get in the car try to turn the key the key wont turn!!!!! So after 30 minutes trying to get it tostart after calling ym dad who knows all about cars he used to help my grandpa with semis while her was stil alive and he would fix cars he workd as a mechanic for a prison and for other peoplefor a while... and he was 2 hours away... so he couldnt help much more... so then we call aarp they come after 40 minutes waiting! then we get to alan jay where she bought the car '99 pontiac grandam they said something where the key cylinde rthe springs inside exploded so debating weteher or not to fix it because it costs 600 all together after we talked them down... so we had to wait 5 hours 4 of which was there and then we got a ride to a mall apperatnly they had a shuttle service! and then we got back finally er thing is good! but my grandma is going to get my brothers new car because hes going to buy a truck... he resally likes so shes buying his.... and but i do have good news im getting her car! though i was going to bget it for my b0-day next month but now im getting it early! but thats a good thing that comes from today... im really happy! but still today was horrible!

Those kinds of days can be bad. But you should look for the silver linings and I think you have. I'm very happy you are getting the car, Scott. Congratulations!

Well the day is behind you now, and you can relax....although while you were there it must've seemed like years of waiting.

That's very nice of grandma to give you her old car....I hope you gave her big hugs and kisses for that. thumbup

My first car was a Plymouth Horizon, 1986. Primer paint, and no heat or defrost. So I had to drive with the windows down when it was freezing outside. If I didn't the windshield would freeze over. egad By the time I got home my hands would be just frozen, and mom would be pulling my gloves off and rubbing my fingers. lol It drove great though until it blew a cylinder....oh and no stereo, so I did it old school style with my boombox in the backseat. lol

Take good care of the car, try not to speed, and keep it maintained and stuff.

I'm glad your day is over with pretty much. thumbup

that's awesome scott. now you just have to get it fixed! but still cheaper than buying a "new" car.

Scott ,

Sounds like your last 2 trips to grandmas has been difficult.

Whee least ways you can get the car.. But you will need a job to support the car.
Gas is $3.59 here.

Scott~ I can think of few things worse than hanging around endlessly because of car trouble! But I can also think of few things nicer than a generous grandma and a new car to boot! So, your day was a real "mixed bag" of good and bad. I'm glad it ended well enough.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

Yea today was full of both merme! lol but it wasnt all bad we did have fun at the mall.... The most expensive part of getting it fixed though was the labor if we couldve found the part my dad coulved done it himself! the part was only 230.... my dad has all the stuff to do but we would only have to get it to our house... but the labor costs 322$ and we talked them down from 650! well i was able to... im only 15 but good at negotiation they wouldnt go lower than 550 but with the tax it came to be 600.01 but still.... And yes loz I did give her big hugs and kisses!!!!! And barb I know ill have to take care of the car add in the service charges for the yr and the gas and tires oil filter replacements... i learned about it all in finance class... lol But the good thing is i don't have y permit yet... I thought i was getting it sooner but my mommy said just wait till u turn 16... so i wont have to worry bout it now... but yes ill have a job next month when my b-day comes round.... My grammy wants me to see if theres any nurserrys around my house to see if i can get a job there becuase imm going to go into horticulture... So we have it planned till then though my mom i guess will drive it around so it don't just sit... she has her car but... things tend to happen to her car.. it gets engine trouble alot... but im excited.... Oh and loz im glad this car is in great condition just a unexplainable thing that happned today... I don't know what i would do if i had ur situation... The only thing i would have to fix on the car is the dash is pulling up a lil bit.. but thats easy and the cruise control dont work but my dad would be able to fix it but hey no hurry first i got to get a job get my permit and then worry later on about doing the cosmetic stuff! It runs good so really thats all that matters ill take a pic tomorrow im gonna wash it.. I was already planning on washing it before i even knew i was gonna get it... lol but yea... thanks yall! i better stop writing my wrist is hurting...

Scott I sometimes have worse days.I sometimes fall asleep in class and get in trouble.Something worse than having the car keys not turn is having the car stolen.

ps i will not speed!!!! my dad when he was a cop he was in 3 accidents because of reckless drivers and one of those really messed up his neck and he had to watch a girl about die... Her boyfriend being a speeder ran a redlight and hit my dad in his door... she was ejected he was able to get to her though she wasnt breathing and her teethe were all gone... she survived barely and was taken to the hospital.... but shes paralized now from the shoulders down... But the worst part about it her bf got off scratch free he was wearing his seat belt she was too but it looked like something cut it... i dont know for sure... but... he didn't get in any trouble only a slap on the wrist i guess because his father was rich from the tool business he created some kind of tool.... so no i wont be speeding.... im already paronoid of big trucks and suvs....
