My potted plants can come in for the night. What about things like daylillies? Do they need covered? Azalea bushes?

BTW, the daylillies my mom split and gave me a few weeks ago. They are from the house I grew up in and have been there since before they bought the house - almost 35 years ago! It is so neat to have an heirloom like that!

I personally, would rather be safe than sorry. I keep old sheets in the basement to cover things up with, and old pots that plants originally come in....that way I can just flip them upside down over a plant.

I mean they'd probably be okay, but I hate risking it you know?

I went through the same thing 2 weeks ago. I covered my azaleas and some other tender perennials that were coming up, but I left my daylilies alone. Nothing got damaged at all, luckily. Unless your daylilies are blooming, I would leave them be. If the foliage gets a little burned you can always cut it back and they will regrow quickly.

Thanks you two. My potted babies are in the house...heading out to cover my azaleas. Hopefully this will be the last of the frost. No, the daylilies aren't blooming yet...I think they are a bit behind anyway because of the transplant - but they are doing well.
