I finally have blooms from my garden! I picked a small bunch for my room last night:

[Linked Image]

The bright red tulips and the yellow tulip were from my uncle's garden when he divided his bulbs. The dark red tulips are supposed to be 'Ile de France' tulips, and the daff, King Alfred. Pussy willow branches behind.

And my calla:

[Linked Image]

I can't remember what I bought, but I was pretty sure it was a pink/purple/white blend. But I don't really mind the colour, I really like callas! This one bloomed really fast, only ever grew one leaf and then a bud. I have another calla outside with a bud but it hasn't started to show colour or open yet.

Very nice, Kenny - you definitley have the touch! thumbup

(could you please make your second picture smaller so it doesn't go off the page? thanks!)

I know I keep posting tulips, but I can't get enough of them!
Plus, they are the only thing blooming here right now, aside from daffodils, and the osteospermum that I bought in bloom.

And deep inside the yellows! Gotta love 'em! luv

AHA! Thanks for the "heads-up", Lynne! I didn't know you'd been posting lovely pictures here!

You always have such a nice touch with your flowers, too.

Kenny ~ great pictures!

Thanks Lynne! I didn't realize it was that big, just resized it...

Enrique, little oranges already? wow, do you eat the oranges or are they just like ornamental to look at?

I've never had to hand pollenate stuff for fruit/seeds but I have tried with success. Have you tried maybe fanning the tree so it disperses the pollen? I think oranges are single sexed trees, so you may need more than one tree. I'm guessing since it flower's it's probably a female. Most male trees that I know of don't put on flowers, they put on catkins or the like, but I seriously have no clue about oranges. sorry I couldn't help

well most of my orange tree blossoms have dried up too--and mine has not had the chance to be outside yet this year---

apparently I cannot put mine out in this area until the nights get to be a constant 50*F outside--and that has not happened yet.

well I will hope that teh few oranges you do have will thrive & grow up 'big & strong' for you. lol (laughing is for the big & strong part)
