I figure it's a good, cheap way to get some growth going. Maybe in my planters on the ends of my table garden, and the big barrel I have on one of the lots.
I'll get about 4 sweet potatoes today, sit them in water and wait till they sprout.
Anybody else doing this?
Another cheap idea . . . dried soup mix. We bought a pack of it and didn't like it, so I'm going to throw the rest of the dried mix into a garden patch.
I put 2 pieces into pots the end of March and 1 is all moldy and the other is just sitting here. I had better luck the last time I did this a few years ago.
seems one time in school we cut a potato in half and put toothpicks in the sides and sort of suspended it over a jar of water so roots could form and the plant grew out of the top. I thought actually growing the potatoes was a winter project.
