When Diane found her great deal on the solar balls she's been telling us about, she decided to share a blue one with me, knowing how I love blue in my gardens! It was too early to put it out here where I live, so she held on to it and sent it out this past weekend - I LOVE IT!!! When I turned it on, it was shining blue already, even though it is sunny outside there was just enough of a shadow in the house to see how it works - GREAT! Thank you Diane! Can you see it in the middle of the rocks? I put it there for now, until we have the gardens dug out and settled on either side of the pond. Can't wait to see it at night!
She also heard me say how much I LOVE her spoon osteospermum, and how I've never seen one for sale around here, and she sent me a piece of her very own plant! It's already potted up and in a special place on my front steps. I'm going to baby this plant with so much love and attention! Thank you Diane!
I also got some cuttings from a sedum that is growing in the Willy Village! How SPECIAL is that!?!?!?! :ding: We thought I'd be able to plant it out on the pond hill, but after researching it online, I found out that it's not hardy in my zone here, so I potted it up so I could bring it indoors in the fall and hope it survives there. If it grows well, I might take some cuttings and try it on the hill. Thanks so much again, Diane!!!
This box came at a time when I really needed a pick-me-up - thank you so much Diane for always knowing how to lift my spirits!
Edit: I forgot to mention the very nice card with a picture of a red headed woodpecker on it - perfect timing with all the birding that we did the past few days!
Lynne~I'm glad the box got to you today,, I was worried about the plants,,,, But I see you jumped right on it,,and potted them up! Your Solar Ball will stay lit for a long time,, sometimes mine are still lit in mid morning after shining all thru the night,, I'm happy you like it,, and your spirits were lifted today,,
Loz Does the red ball stay lit up for you a long time??? I have a smaller white ball that somehow got condensation inside of it and it doesn't stay lit as long as the others,, So I was wondering since yours is in your pond,, if it makes a difference how long it remains lit??

Yes Diane, long after my other solar lights in the yard have wore off it's still shining a bright red! No condensation in it, but maybe that will change as it gets more humid? I just love it.
ohhhhhhh - that was my question for Diane - if I could put it in the pond??? I think that would be so cool to watch it swirling around in the water while lit up!
YEAH, throw it in the water! My fish don't seem to mind, I think of it as there own personal nightlight while they rest--I say rest since they don't sleep ......

Welllllllll It did come from the swimming pool store,, I think it will look really cool in the water,, could be eventually the fish will swim 'into' it or push it as they become familiar with it and understands it is nothing harmful... especially at night,, it would be cool if they "pushed" at it,, I guess you'll know if they are when you see it "bouncing around" suddenly
