Your first bird is a Chipping Sparrow. Birds two and three are White-Throated Sparrows, note the black and white striped head and the BRIGHT yellow lores in front of the eyes.

Your bird of prey IS a hawk but I'm not sure what kind. I'm weak on Hawk ID, I'm NOT a Hawk person, but my guess would be Cooper's or Sharp-Shinned Hawk (These two hawks are nearly IDENTICAL), or else a Red-Tailed Hawk. Good views of all angles of the tail, along with breast and head markings, are the BEST way to ID a hawk.

Yes, a chipping sparrow, that's what I thought. They are very active here and I enjoy watching them. I didn't know about the white-throated sparrow, very pretty and colorful for a sparrow. It's the first time I've seen one of them around here, actually two of them.

The hawk was watching for snakes over a large field.

I've seen osprey around here with fish in their talons twice this week. That I would love to photograph!

I try to take one day at a time -- but sometimes several days attack me at once.

we have a hawk that hangs out around here. I just love them...mainly because of my phobia of field mice. one day driving home, I literally drove under a low flying hawk carring a snake! that was one of the coolest things i'd ever seen. (looked like a water moscin(sp?)

Great pictures Mel. Don't you just love the bits of yellow the the birdies. That's a pretty hawk. When I let ToDeTa out a hawk circles her. She's very loud and constantly barking. We have to be careful.
