Hello, I am very new to this site & I'm still trying to figure out how to even use it. I just bought a couple of queen palms in a 20 gallon container. so they seem to be about 12-15 feet tall. (total) It had confusing planting instructions. I dug a hole about 1 1/2 times the pot size in depth and about about 12 inches round bigger than the pot. I mixed my ground dirt (which is like red clay dirt) with a top soil mixer which i had left over from laying sod on the ground. I mixed the two together & planted it just level with the dirt that it already had. I sure hope I did this right. I used some miracle grow in the water afterwards. Is miricle grow ok to use with palms ? how many feet per yesr does this tree grow ? i think i live in zone 9 or 10

I don't know much about palms, I live to far North in the cold and snow for such plants. Sounds like you planted it well.
Just be careful not to over fertilize your plants though.
Someone should be around soon to give you some info on your plant itself.
~~Tam~ You can bury all your troubles by digging in the dirt.

water daily until established, deep soak w/hose. use apex palm fert 13-5-8 quarterly.
I love the sweet scents wafting in the breeze. I stop to admire the vibrant colors of all living things. And people think me odd. Then ODD I am!!!

It might also help if you try cutting this dense red clayey type soil with sand... just pile it on around the base of the palm and spread it out a little. As you water the sand will cut into the clay and open it up a little. Palms don't like to work too hard to establish a root system and the sand will cut into the clay as you water and open up the soil to help the palm root. :)
