At school today,I saw a tomato plant growing in a flower bed.It was growing by itself. Some flowers and weeds were growing near it.I was considering if I should dig it up and take it home. There's no sign of disease on it.Perhaps it's a plant that grew from the seed of a F1 hybrid cherry tomato because they serve cherry tomatoes along with salad for lunch. The plant is small and has two true leaves.

No,I thik it's a volunteer that grew from a tomato that someone left in the bed instead of throwing it away.

we have 4-6 volunteers here...squash type. 2 we put in the garden the others we left where they came up - right by the porch...and more sprouting week by week. I'm thinking they are pumpkins, which won't tolerate the heat here...but they could be dang near anything since they came up right by the porch. cantaloupe, watermelon. it will be interesting.

if it doesn't belong to anyone, take it home!

I'm going to take a Ziploc bag to school and pick it up.
