Went to Traders Village Saturday look what I found from $3.00 up this one was $5.00 I got two shots one lights on.
This without lights.

Ooooooooooh - that's a really pretty one Jimmy! I brought a few back from Florida a few years ago, but they were the all green kind, and it wasn't humid enough here for them to survive for very long.

Sorry - they are called tillandsia. They usually grow on tree trunks and branches in tropical areas - need lots of humidity.

Lots of Orchids grow like that .On trees and swamps......The one I have, is actually in a piece of wood
growing .

the amount of humidity they require is equal to what you have in your bathroom after a shower. not a steamy shower, just a regular shower. kinda like savannah in the summer time.

I been spraying my golden showers Orchid in the sink and it is responding .
I love my Orchids......Humidity or not.One blooms.......

Sorry thought I wrote the name thanks Lynne. Man said to spray them once a week and put them in bright indirect light. So Mine is in a window on top of my plant carts.
