I have been having relatively severe dizziness since Monday. That was the worst day.. it has gotten better and worse through out the week. The odd thing is, and the reason I am asking on here, is because one of hubby's nurses at the hospital also said she has been having dizziness for two weeks. She hasn't seen a doctor yet. But it gets better.. two of his friends from his motorcycle club came to see him in the hospital, they are both experiencing the same thing. AND I was just chatting with a friend of mine on MSN messenger and she has been having them off and on also. All of these people are women. I don't know if this is sheer coincidence or not. But kind of scary. Not sure if hubby's two friends have seen a doctor about it or not.. but my friend has.. she is on Meclinzine I think she said.. or something like that.. for her equilibrium. I have also not seen a doctor yet.. this has been a crazy week for us.. had a foal born on monday, hubby's surgery was tuesday, he came home late on Weds.. and our daughter came out thursday with her new baby and spent the night.. so this week was hectic. (Not sure why I feel I need to justify not going to the dr right away. )
Just wanted to put this out there to see if anyone else if having any similar symptoms.
I can get dizziness when I am having severe problems with seasonal allergies... it has something to do with the inner ear picking up excess fluid. Mine usually passes when the sinuses clear and for me it isn't a symptom of a bigger problem.
I know you've had a frightfully busy week, but if yours continues it would be smart to get looked at by a doc! I don't like the sound of unexplained symptoms, you know?
Let us know how you do, please.
Merme
We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.
well I had 1 or 2 episodes--just mild---I almost did not notice--but in the mean time I had swelling of my ankles & feet--(one was due to a broken toe) had me all chaeked out & i was fine---and now that you mention it merme, I think it was likley due to allergies.--BP was good too.

all good advice and now, go to the dr and tell us you are ok and it's just allergies. or tell us something else is wrong. in the meantime we'll be praying for you! we want you better from momma mouse.
I get dizzy a good bit....but I'm pretty sure that mine is related to inner ear issues...just gets me off balance. Sometimes I get really dizzy when I'm sitting up in bed....like the room spins for a second. Always freaks me out, but I'm sure it's the whole ear thing.
I was getting dizzy spells frequently and went to the doctor. She checked my thyroid but that was okay, she thought it might have something to do with hypoglycemia but my blood sugars are in perfect range whether I've eaten or not. It could have to do with my allergies but I've been getting immunotherapy shots for almost 2 years now. Then, one doc thought I had an anxiety problem and tried to put me on paxil, which made things worse so I stopped it. It's gotten much more infrequent now. If I'm getting dehydrated or my stomach is too empty I'll get dizzy. Still sometimes get a bit of the spins for no reason but it passes quickly.
wow thats weird, i was dizzy most of last week, in fact it woke me out of a sound sleep....when i finally got some, & i am not the fainting type but wednesday i dang near went to the floor. i am under a horrendous amount of stress right now, but i had a fleeting thought in the morning the other day, that i was handling it all okay, and experiencing whole hours of actual happiness...so i don't know. the last thing i want is drugs to sort this out, i really need my wits about me right now, its time to "take care of business".
Well I don't have allergies, so I doubt that is it. And I do get Migraines, but I would think the dizziness linked to that wouldn't last a whole week, would it? I have no idea. I just hate going to the doctor and waiting for a diagnosis.. trial and error ya know? My friend that is on the meds for her equilibrium said they have not helped at all. THAT is what I am afraid of. Going to the doctor.. getting some kind of medicine, take it a week.. and no change. Bleh. I know, I am such a pessimist.
It is just so odd that so many people suffer from this. And I looked up Vertigo and I am not entirely sure that is what it is either. It says that you experience a feeling of your surroundings moving.. but how is that different from just dizziness? I have had head injuries in my lifetime, horse related, hehe, and I have had severe dizziness from them.. to the point of not being able to walk. But this isn't quite that severe.. but severe enough to make me extremely nauseas until the feeling goes away.
*sigh* I guess I go to the dr this coming week. Fun.
How about Sinitus infections, so popular today......Inner ear infections would do it. Just be calm for a while....Dont turn the head fast. Eat cough drops an rub vicks on the forehead and around the ears..
MIL had it today---got all white & was a bit dizzy---at first her BP was low--then it came up--and now she is fine---;ast night she said she woke up feeling kinda sick---woke up this am fine---thent eh dizzyness this afternoon--she is 88 now--and jsut spent tha last few days runnig around town a lot when her oldest son came for a visit for a few days---so exertion could have something to do with this--what ever it is----

88.............dont worry.. Flu would do it. Gosh she must be doing well other wise. Sense of balance is disturbed if one has flu or colds or anything else. Thus dizzy.....
Update for me.. I was feeling better for the most part then Weds or Thurs things turned on me. And I started having the dizziness more frequently.. So, I shall be calling the doctor Tuesday to get in this week. Regardless of how I am feeling.. since it can obviously come and go.. and I am feeling fine otherwise.. no flu, no migraines.. no sinus problems... no allergies. So.. I am disgusted. Will let you all know how things go.. I hope to get in on Weds afternoon.
