I am a little late getting this post up, but it has been a busy week. We thought maybe the mare had lost this little guy cause she went from looking HUGE to not so huge in a few days time.. but we were still hopeful and praying.. and here he is!
Isn't he just adorable?? He missed Haley's birthday by a week.. lol And Mother's Day by a day...

And what did you name him? And how big will he get eventually? And how is mother-and-baby doing now?
Merme
We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.
Jennifer he is precious!!! I too would like to know how nmamany you won.
when mt youngest was small--she wanted a horse. A klady I knew had minature horses--so DH told DD if she wanted she could have sa minature horse--well no--she wanted a full sized one or none---so she got none---

Thanks everyone! He is doing really well as is his momma. Right now we have 3 miniatures.. I have the two year old half sister to this little guy. She is going to be up for sale soon. And we have 5 big horses. We just sold one about 3 weeks ago and I have two more big ones to sell. I had 8 horses to feed over the winter.. 2 being miniatures, but still. That was alot of hay and alot of money. I told hubby we are downsizing. We will never sell the mare that just foaled.. we got her for our daughter Courtney when she turned 5 and that is what she learned to ride on. She is going to be here to teach baby Haley to ride someday. As for the new colt, we haven't decided on a name yet. I suggested Comet.. hehe "Haley's Comet".. but I don't know. I doubt we will be keeping him either. Will probably sell him as a long weanling. I am in the process of finding a cart and harness for the little mare. She is broke to drive, but we have never driven her. But I want to start. A good summer project for Courtney and I. As for how big he will be, he is smaller than her last foal was at birth. Momma is 33 inches at her withers.. which is the tallest point of her back. So they are just little critters. I should dig up some pics of Courtney on Pinkie.. the mare, when she was just learning to ride.. so cute.
Ya know Dodge, I love going 4 wheeling just as much as the next person, but there is just something soothing about being around horses.. for me at least. I don't even have to be riding.. just grooming them or giving them some treats and I am happy as a lark.
And Tamara, yeah, you should totally go see some minis sometime! It is the same as being around horses, but on a much smaller and safer scale!
If anyone wants to see more pics, just let me know.
