Hey, last year we discovered a natural spring in the back yard. Last weekend, we dug out some mud, and shaped it. We live in zone 6, our soil is rich but also clay, and around the spring it's always damp. This is so cool, that spring did not ever freeze over even when it was below zero outside. This area has full to partial sun, and is wet even in 110 degree weather.

I am hoping to find some herbs that like their feet wet. I have some valerian, violets, a lot of stuff really, just still learning about what likes to be where.

I love herb gardening... any ideas would be very much appreciated :)

shock We just moved into this house 1 year ago so I am concentrating on the completely un-landscaped yard. This just made me think. We have 5 acres and on the very back of the property is a stream. Wonder what would be good to plant around it that would be self sufficient since it is so far back? Wouldn't it the such a nice surprise to be walking through the woods and come upon a lovely little garden spot?
