Hi Everyone,

I live in NM (my first season gardening here) and there is pretty much desert scrub all around..except in people's back yards. I have found these yellow, inch-inch and a half long yellow-ish crickets in every planted pot that has real soil! I don't have a picture of them, and I don't really care what they are.. my question is are crickets a major pest in the southwest (western albuquerque?) I'm getting ready to put herbs, annuals and maybe some veggies (tomatoes and peppers)outside and I want to know if they will be a bad pest.

Also, is it crazy to try and plant tomatoes and peppers if I have antelope squirrels (the look like chipmunks) in my backyard?

Thanks
