I planted cauliflower seeds a couple of weeks ago, together with broccoli. Today the broc. is thriving but my poor cauliflower seedlings are not doing anything. As soon as a leaf appears, it turns yellow around the edges and curls inward. I've tried pinching off the yellow leaves but the next one is still the same. Can someone help me with this.

I used the same new soil that I used for my broc. and did all the same things, like watering and fertilizing.

Here are a few pictures of my cauliflower seedlings. Maybe this will help someone identify the problem.

I've seen it before, it's a nitrogen deficiency called Molybdenim(sp?). Just a sec I'll look up the info for you.

I knew I spelled it wrong lol and I got it mixed up anyway. It appears that Molybdenum isn't the nitrogen defciency but a problem in itself. Hope I didn't confuse you.

Anyway this is what I found about it:

Molybdenum Deficiency Symptoms

Molybdenum deficiency shows up as a general yellow foliage color, stunting and
lack of vigor. The symptoms are similar to those caused
by nitrogen starvation. Early stages of the deficiency in
cauliflower and broccoli appear as a marginal scorching,
rolling or curling upward, and withering and crinkling of
the leaves

I should add...I don't know anything else about it but remember my uncle having to buy all new treated seeds a few years ago because they had 'Moldy-B-on-em' lol then my grandfather said it wasn't really spelled or said like that.

Does this mean that they won't grow into anything.

Not sure, I'll call my uncle when he gets home later. I know he just bought new seeds when they looked like that.

Hopefully someone else can come along and give a better opinion for you. .
