Breck's is selling peonies at a bargain price.

for 38.94 including shipping you can get the following 5 peonies.

Sorbet
Sarah Bernhardt
Felix Supreme
Pillow Talk
Festiva Maxima

These are beautiful double bloosom peonies and I immediately set down and filled out the form for them. They will be delivered and charged to my card this fall. You can also get them online at www.Brecks.com/Peonies.

I'm going to displace some of the irises I had planned to put up against the house with these beauties. Now the only peonies I still would like to have is a bright yellow double blosoom and an orange double blosoom.

I love peonies.

I love peonies too, and at $8 each, that's quite a steal! But I want to ask you, Tammy, is it true that divisions take 3-5 years to settle in and won't flower during the settling time (those 3-5 years)? I know you're moving some peonies, so I though you might know...Also if I divide a peony 'clumplet' from the mother clump, can I just drive my shovel in the ground instead of digging up the whol clump, and if I just drive my shovel, will the mother clump have to resettle, and will it bloom next year? Lots of questions, but curious only ever killed the cat lol thanks Tammy

Helping the world one seed at a time

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee

I wish I had a great deal of experience to pass on to you. But I don't. The amount of time it takes a peony to bloom after begin moved depends on the peony. I had a powder puff that bloomed first year everytime it was disturbed. I had some dwarfs that have never bloomed and it's going on year 5. So you'll have to find out the information based on which peony you have. The mother clump should continue blooming after division. And I would probably uncover the clump before "driving my shovel" into it. You want 3 to 5 eyes on the division. No need to add more years to the bloom time while it gets up to mature size.

...you know I've never owned one but I have bought lots as gifts. Maybe I should treat myself this year. They are only $6 at the local nursery.

Ya but they were all the same...'Karl' it said but their was no pics just name tags. The worker didn't know what colour they were... so I didn't buy one.

I'll call and see what color they bloom, I'd like a purple one I think.

There is a "Carl G Klehm" that is a cream color it's very pretty.

The midwest peonie society has a huge picture gallery of different species of peonies. I love looking through there.

I've never seed a picture of a purple one but there is a lavendar one called "Lavendar Bouquet" that is very pretty.

I've got 2 peonies. I planted them one fall and they both bloomed that next spring.

As far as dividing, just make sure you get roots.
