I'm working round the sides with the dark soil from my leaf mulch . . . don't like to use 3 in one's, because I use a lot of plants that are basically wild stuff. So anything with weed killer zaps stuff such as gout weed (gout wort, is a politer term, I guess).

But on the grass (so-called-grass-parts - ha ha!) I think I'll just get a bag of 3 in one, with fertilizer in it.

I got some 3 in 1 soil - with fertilizer - spread it tonight in that corner.

Does anybody know how thick I should have spread it - I did about 1/2 an inch, then spread it a bit more.

I mixed my seed with some of the soil and sprinkled it on.
