In yesterday's mail--I received a wonderful surprise from Sheri.
It was so perfectly timed. I thank you so much, Sheri.
She & I had talked about her sending me some seeds--well along with the seeds were the very nicest pair of washable suede gardening gloves. And also a great card.
the gloves are so nice I will have to talk myself into using them. But not to worry--I will be using them.
I will be planting the seeds when the kids make my new flower bed larger---
and i really need to know if you got those cards at a chain store--i simply love them.
Sheri, you always know just what to do and when to do it. Thank you so very much.

in all of my excitement I failed to tell you all what kind of seeds Sheri was so kind as to send me. As she said above this post--they are Bachelor Buttons.
We were talking in another thread aobut them--(My mom used to plant them when I lived at home yet)--and Sheri was so kind as to offer to send me some.--.
and she did but, obviously that is not all she sent me--such a very kind person!!!!

I heard someplace that it does not help to just own them---my source said yo have to actually wear them and get them all soiled---ah well--we shall see---

Love the gifts!! Especially the windchime, it is perfect for you Carol. If I at least had a balcony outside my apartment I would have a windchime of some kind. I love hearing them.
DH is worried that if he puts my windchimes up for me they will break in the wind, and then I will be sad---I need to convince him I will be 'OK' if that in fact does happen.
Not to mention I can always take them down in if the weather gets 'rough', right???

you have a dropped ceiling at work don't you Sheri--that would be so cool---but I think I may put it in the computer room here on my ceiling fan--then I can look at it ever time I use the computer----

So thanks again.

no, I am sorry to say it is in the bedroom that has my computer----it is on the ceiling fan----when I told my DH where I wanted it to hang out on the front porch--he said to me--but it is glass won't it get broken if the winds get strong??/--so we looked around & it is in here where I can see it lots.
I hope that does not offend you--because I simply love it.--it is perfect!!!
it still clangs around--esp when I have the fan on.

Oh no. Nothing offends me anymore. I'm glad you've got it in a good spot for you. I'm just one of those people who uses the "good" china everyday and hangs the chimes out in the wind. So when you come to eat at my house you'll be eating off chipped plates.
You know the older I get the more I feel like that--
For a wedding present I got a good set of China--well for every holiday I bought heavy paper plates---so when we moved, I thought this is silly---& I bought a few more place settings of my 'good' china (E-bay is wonderful) and I now use the good china when I want and the every day-(corelle)- for all else---I do not know when I used paper last----
I would be honored to eat from your good china, chipped or not.
