I grabbed my camera and ran out to take a pic of a large red headed woodpecker! he flew off, and I was determined to get a pic of some bird...any bird.  so here you go. an ole' crow.

Uhhh, do you have a picture of NOTHIN' to compare it to? I need to see if it IS better than nothin'......Just kiddin'! I LOVE Crows. Actually with all the colorful birds I see, I like a plain black bird best, in many cases. I have been researching Crow behavior and social structure since I was a teenager. Did you know that Crows and other corvids have a language as large and complex as ANY human group? And they talk to each other all the time. I have even watched and listened to them gossiping and doing idle chit-chat. It's quite amazing!

I've noticed when they get spooked and fly off, it sounds like they are laughing. drives my dogs nuts!
