I finally have a couple of pics of my 'mystery plant' a.k.a. Common Evening Primrose blooming. It's still got some 'busting out' to do but you can tell what it's doing here. Dr. Maddox was dead on!

I bought a Kodak Easyshare C713 digital camera but I'm gonna exchange it. It doesn't get oranges and blues correctly. Otherwise, it's a nifty camera ...and not terribly expensive. The mfg. said it's a new model and that particular camera may just have a glitch in color coding. I'll swap for the same one and check it out. If it does the same thing, I'll get something else.

The first pic is kinda hard to see since I reduced it to website size. The message board size for both pics came out huge!! Why is that?

that's the camera I have and I love it. I love the movie clips it does.

That's good to know!! I haven't tried a movie clip yet. I haven't even looked at the instructions for that. How long a clip can it take?

Just to show ya what the message board size does with these particular pics, here's just one of those pics:

I have one of those too except mine is a C613, you can mess around with the colour. DD did to get the exact colour of her prom dress, so now I know the colours are right.

The mfg support for my C713 digital Kodak camera put me through the paces of checking things out. All to no avail. I returned it this morning and exchanged it for another of the same model. It does the same thing. It seems to have a problem registering oranges and blues correctly. This model doesn't have a way to adjust color. I emailed Kodak about it and suggested they tweak the color coding. :wink:

message board size is fine. it is 640x480 that is the limit. and i like your pictures

Okey dokey. :wink: It just seemed really huge all of a sudden. The pic below is also message board size. It didn't go all over the place. I don't think I'm understanding something about all this. But if it's okay that they they're 'huge,' then okay.

I took the second Kodak Easyshare C713 back along with one of the dark orange flowers, a sample of the blue-gray material, and printed out pics of the C713 of those items to show that the camera viewer registers them wrong, they do not improve after 'offloading' and they print out exactly as they were 'seen' by the camera. The specialist at the Camera Center readily saw it wasn't right. We tried the next model up of a Kodak (don't remember the model number) and it did the same thing. So we tried a Samsung S760 which is the same price as the C713 and with similar features except it does have a little color adjustment capability (didn't need it) and it registered the colors PERFECTLY!!

I now own a cute little dark metallic red Samsung S760!!

Hang on a sec! I scrolled back up and looked at the pic of the primrose and the pic is not the same size as it was the other day!!!!!! It was going off the screen!! It's fine today!! What's going on?? The 'universe' is messing with me again.

Thanks for the 640 suggestion - I usually re-size mine to 700 . . . they're a bit large for forums.

I also use an Easy Share - not sure what the model number is - I've had it since 2k4 - very reliable digital camera.

kalar, when you resize a photo after you have posted it, you have to refresh the post page to make it show up "true". your computer has a memory that won't automatically refresh every time the same pictures every time you go to a page, to save time. so you have to "make" it do it by hitting the refresh button. does that make sense? i don't feel it does.
