Been browsing this forum a few weeks now and figured I'd better register just in case I have some questions for y'all. Recently moved from an upstairs apartment to a house with over two acres of land... and NO gardens. zoink

Starting from scratch isn't a bad thing.. but it sure won't be easy. Especially since I'm starting with little money. I know that I won't have much in this year since the growing season is well on it's way and I haven't even broke ground on any of the flower gardens I want to plant.... although we have tilled up an area for the veggies.

On a happy note I did receive a "present" of sorts from one of our neighbors down the road... three tomato plants that she didn't have room for in her garden. (two yellow and one yellow pear) Hopefully it's not too late to put them in the ground. I've been keeping them watered and they are currently in three separate 3-4" pots, I wanted to get some nutrients added to the soil before I planted them... but it doesn't look like that's going to happen so they'll have to survive on what's there. I don't know what type of soil I have or anything else about it cuz I haven't got it tested. I do know that it's not clay but there is clay in it.

We'll just have to see how it goes I guess.

Anyways, nice to be here, I'm sure I'll be asking a lot of dumb questions in the future.

Hi CDL ~

I'm glad you've got a place with some land. Not to worry; the gardens will come, season by season.

Welcome to the forum!

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

I try to take one day at a time -- but sometimes several days attack me at once.

wavy heya, neighbor!! what about are you located?

don't worry about getting a lot done all at once - you've got plenty of time to work on things!! i would get the tomato into the ground though...wait until the weather breaks though. too darn HOT right now!! keep them well watered - as in daily since they're in pots right now.
