Carol - will that aster bloom all summer, or does it prefer the cooler times such as spring and fall? Most asters here are like that.

Here is the first Black Oil Sunflower Blossom that has opened in my yard this year. It opened just this morning. I didn't plant it. The BIRDS did. They knock a lot of seed out of my feeders to the ground which usually sprout. I just let it grow for the Goldfinches to eat later in the Summer. They are adorable eating the seeds our of the sunflower heads.

Excellent Thorn.Excellent in photo and ideas. I pull the same caper for the love of birds....Some come back yearly in the beds and I let them grow just to see the birds fight over the harvest .
They sure do make a mess........LOL

All these flowers only last 1 day - such a shame!

I like your 'Stella lily Lynne~!

don't let the soil dry out ~ inside indirect sun ,, out side more shade in the heat of the summer for your carrion! IF you take outside spring and summer early fall it will have a growth spurt! thumbup

Thanks for the advice Diane - I think I'll hang it in the tree next to the pitcher plant - it gets dappled shade there most of the day.

Love those Diane! I used to always grow the peppermint one too, but haven't found it for sale around here the past few years. I'm sure I could buy seeds, but I haven't done seeds much lately either...

Very pretty. I just took pics of things yesterday. I'll post most in the 'blooming fine' and the foilage topic though.

Not a flower but a Lupine leaf, looked pretty with the rain drop in the centre.
