I have "Big Blue" growing as my edge around the garden. (ornamental grass) Am I supposed to trim it down now or just leave it? And I hear I can split it and transplant some of it to help fill out naked spots- true or false?

If you have dead material from last year, you can cut the grass back to a few inches and you'll get a flush of new growth. And yes, you can divide it.
