Hi. I found this website and at the moment, it's seems to be a good option. I have about 15 houseplants of a few different varieties. I have a lot going on in my life so I have plants that don't require a lot from me but manage to make my home look beautiful.
Anyway, I've had this... tree/plant for about 5 years. It was passed on to me by some friends when living in FL. They were moving across the country, couldn't take it, and knew that I would give it a good home b/c I already had one like it. I don't know the name. I can take a picture if someone thinks they can help me. It's actually 6 woody stalks in one plant about 10' tall anchored to a bamboo stick in the middle. It hasn't changed much in size b/c I trim it once or twice a year so it doesn't get too top heavy. I water everyone every Sunday morning when I wake up. Everyone gets the same amount of water they've been getting for years. This plant has moved twice in FL, up to PA in a moving truck, and then down to NJ, and finally 6 months ago into a house I don't plan on leaving for at least 12 years. This plant is a TROOPER!
All of sudden, last month, I'm watering the plant and I realize the pot is now a swamp. The water is not going anywhere. I tried to absorb as much of it back out as possible. I let it go for a week and a half. When I checked again- still a swamp. So, I went to a local gardening center. They told me to replant it in a new pot with nothing-added soil. So, I did. When I pulled it out of the old watery soil, the smell made me gag- it was awful.
All of the leaves except for 10 have fallen off, and there's a white fuzzy mold around the base of a few of the stalks at the dirt line. Here's the thing though... there are new baby buds on every stalk.
I need help. I am not a plant expert, but I LOVE my plants. I don't want to give up on this one and I don't think it's ready to give up on me.
I'm sorry this is so long. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

I think the first thing to do, is dry that sucker out. can you put a fan on it, or move it outside if the temp and sun would be close to the inside growing conditions?...(I'm assuming it's inside)
yea, get some pic's up. there are some great bug people on this site that can tell you just what to do!
