Rookie gardener here -- I have had my tomatoes in my "urban garden" for about a month, and they are thriving. However, in my zeal to remove suckers, I think I actually took off the growing tip of one. The plant still looks fine, but is it finished as far as tomatoes go? I'm not noticing the formation of new leaflets.

Should I just pull it up and plant some kind of fast-growing variety at this point? Any advise would be GREATLY appreciated.

P.S. I should point out that it's an indeterminate variety... "Best Boy," if I recall.

It'll still produce tomatoes from it's side shoots. Some gardeners cut off the growing tips purposely so that the growing goes into tomatoe production instead of plant growth.

Hi and welcome.

Actually your intuition was good in this case. It is actually recommended with indeterminate types of tomatoes to cut the growing tip (as well as side-shoots) in order to let the plant focus on producing (and ripening) fruit.
