Hollyhocks are opening up. They are ginormous! And have reseeded all over the yard!

Is this a form of sedum? Mom has it everywhere and I've taken loads of it and put it all around the pond.

Thanks Barb, the pictures are taken at my home...my mom lives across the street.

My yard isn't huge, but for being in town it's not bad. We also have a spare lot the same size as the one our house is on.

Mom and dad's yard is bigger than mine.

Beautiful pics! I love that 'daughter's room view', too!!

Cosmos has become my alltime favorite, too. I planted them for the first time this year. I LOVE the airyness, that frilly open look. Will plant bunches of 'em next year.

Yup, it's a sedum. We just call it yellow stonecrop here. Trying to find out it's exact species name...I'll let you know.

I think it's Sedum kamtschaticum subsp. ellacombianum
aka Kamschatca Stonecrop, Russian Stonecrop

Join the crowd, Kenny!!! A few years ago I just had to buy every sedum that I came across. They have all done well here which is great because this year I was able to plant pieces of each creeping one all over the waterfall hills of the pond. They are growing nicely there and I'm hoping they will grow into each other and form a nice ground cover on the hills so it's all green up there. The flowers are a pretty bonus too!

Yup I'm on a flat. My land is 5 acres across and 20 acres back, and a few acres across the road.

My sis-in-law owns an acre on the end, her brother-in-law behind her, then another sis-in-law behind him. Then I have another neighbour on the other end on an acre(it was sold(by my father-in-law) to my daughters Godfather who in turn sold it to other people)We were not impressed. I sit on the middle acre against the road.

I have more pics but photobucket takes forever. I'll post as they upload.

She has to do something ....

I have a zero turn mower and it is easier than the tractor type.

They only told me no lifting more than 5 pounds for a while.. But the more I walked, the stronger I got .......Your muscles are important for survival too.
