Our cat was eating the newly planted seedlings so I decided to fence him out. I took old 2 by 4 lumber, sawed it up the middle and painted it with waste oil(prevents wood rot). DH hammered them in the ground.

Then I bought plastic netting at the dollar store, yup the dollar store for $1. This stuff is about 6 feet high and there was over 30 feet on a roll.

Then I stapled it to the posts and used rocks to hold it to the ground. My garden doesn't look like much because it was just planted last week. Our season is very late here. So all in all, it cost only about $5 to save my sanity and my plants.

Well, partially. I have the netting attatched to a long piece of wood that just rolls over against the post. Hard to explain....
