My daughter called and wants me to interpret her dream. I took a class on this one time, believe it or not, but I can't find my book right now.
She dreamed that a huge, black snake was on her refrigerator. Her husband and Johnny were there with her and Johnny decided to drown the snake. Her husband was pulling some type of wood paneling off the wall at the time. Johnny tried to grab the snake to drown him with a hose but he got away and went into the wall. Then she woke up.
I found that they can be fear symbols....and can point to a deep seated anxiety.
Or they can be a symbol of wisdom or transformation.
I have the weirdest dreams....a few nights ago I was dreaming that mom had a big pond in her yard and there were goldfish in it leaning over the side tapping their fins and they were as big as whales.....
And before that I had a dream that I was in a house in the country and the sky filled up with UFO's and they started crashing all around me......I was peeking out a window upstairs and thousands of them were coming down, and I was terrified because that meant a lot of aliens walking around and I was in the middle of nowhere. It was scary.
I also dream of tornado's a lot.....That I'm hiding or running away from them.
If she was Not afraid of the snake it more than likely means, the snake is a positive symbol; it may represent difficulties that lead us to the center of personality and result in feelings of completeness. But with the wood panel being taken down there she found a new layer to her inner self, most personal self reflection,
IF she was afraid of the snake,, it could also Mean someone around her is trying to be or IS sneaky ; and the snakes would then represent a "warning to be alert and aware" It's not in her immediate family,,,,,, and While other's are trying to protect her it's out of their control,, she has to be the one to get a firm grip on the situation and meet the sneaky one head on, and resolve the situation with a firm hand, because she remember the wood in the dream , it also holds meaning ,, There is some confusion and lack of clear meaning,, again going back to getting a grip on the situation and resolving it being firm!
"Grace without perfection is more to be desired than perfection without grace."
Sometimes a snake is JUST a snake. But often is a phallic symbol. Snakes and holes, Hmmmm......UH-Unnnnnh! Don't EVEN go there, Thorny. My father IS a Psychiatrist, REALLY! I better leave this sorta thing up to him.
Kingdoms RAGE and go to war...but the PEasants plant potatoes..
EARTH FIRST! (we'll strip-mine the OTHER planets later.)
dreaming of a snake: Definition: Seeing a snake or be bitten by one in your dream means hidden fears and worries that are threatening you. Your dream may be alerting you to something in your waking life that you are not aware of or that has not yet surfaced. The snake may also be seen as phallic and thus symbolize dangerous and forbidden sexuality. The snake may also refer to a person around you who is callous, ruthless, and can't be trusted. As a positive symbol, snakes represent transformation, knowledge and wisdom. It is indicative of self-renewal and positive changes.

About the UFO's...got this definition off the web:
Seeing a UFO in your dream means your desires to find your spiritual purpose in life. Alternatively, it indicates that you are feeling alienated from those around you. The dream may also be a metaphor suggesting that you are a little "spacey" or have "spaced out" attitude. You need to be more grounded and come back to reality.
I have had many dreams through the years where I am in a house or shopping area or beach...all in the same town...which I have never seen before. I am always aware in my dream that I am dreaming of this place AGAIN. I could draw a diagram of the buildings and a street map of the town!! But I've never really been there!!!

I'll never be grounded--I'm a dreamer for sure. It was a scary dream though.
Shirley, I have a dream similar to yours at least once a month. I'm in a huge shopping mall that has secret underground levels and secret passageways, and a huge movie theater, and escalators......I could draw it too---it's so detailed.
Last night I had a dream I was Paris Hilton---Heaven help me. Too much reading on my gossip sites I guess.
I just submitted my dream ( about the same location ) to DreamWorks on the web!! I'll see what they say about that. It'll be a few days but I will put what they say in this topic.
I'm interested in hearing an interpretation of dreaming of the same place you've never been before too! I've had the same one for years. mine is a very old two story house. one room of the upstairs I always forget is there and never go in it. I remember in my dream it is a dream, so I go up to that room and look around, rearrange furniture making plans to spend time in that room but never do. in some dreams I even take some of the furniture downstairs to use in other places cause I'm scarred I'll forget about that room again. theres a huge outdoor indoor 'room' on the downstairs, and a very large fenced in yard...filled with wonderful and strange plants of course. I always wonder what the room upstairs means - the one I keep forgetting about.

I’m an archetypal dream therapist with North of Eden. I’m responding personally to your e-mail about your dream. And I will now give you some input about it:
The dream you sent was:
Over many years I dream of a town I've never been in; I could diagram the houses I dream in and draw a map of the streets and locations. In the houses my children are young, and I am happy there with them. I love the streets and the shopping area downtown, and the beach area. When I am in those places I am always alone but happy, and seem to be just walking around like I live there and familiar with everything. Sometimes I meet people who are friends (but I don't really know them!!). I am ALWAYS aware in my dreams, and comment to myself, that I am in this same location AGAIN! I tell myself comments, like, "Hey, this (house or shop) is in that SAME town, and I know just where it is located in relation to (wherever) that I dreamed about before!!" But this location and everything in it is totally unknown to me!!!
So this town probably represents what I call the “Golden City,” it exists in the Divine Plane. This is being offered to you because the Archetypes, who are your spiritual guides, want you to know it exists in the here and now.
I wish I could be even more definitive about your dream, but it is difficult to do this outside the context of your whole life. Dreams are a pathway to the depths of your soul. If you wish to consider further exploring your dreams, I can help you to begin the process. Please contact me again if you want to know more.
From there on they was trying to get me to continue with them which of course would cost money. All in all it wasn't very helpful to me.
hhhmmm....interesting. and a little vague like you said. I think in mine with forgetting the room has something to with something in my life that i'm neglecting? or some resource I have that I'm not using? although I can't think of anything?

I also have the same dream over and over. I am in a towm in the country standing in a house. All of the sudden Im in the City, in the house I grew up in and its full of people and I dont know any of them. I thought it ment I wanted to go back home or something???
dhuber, I think you may have feeling of insecurity about something because you don't know any of the people. Maybe you're feeling alone now even though you're in familiar surroundings. I took a class on this and you have to figure out where you are in your life after thinking about your dreams.
For instance I used to dream about being in cars or trucks all the time. I was never driving. I was either in the backseat or in the front but I wasn't driving. I had to stop and realize that I felt I wasn't in control of my own life.
