That is a wonderful dress for a little girl!! Great job.
If you go to Sewing Projects...Quilts and more #1,2,3, and 4 and more you can see other sewing projects some of us have done.
loved your little bonnet over there.
the little dress I did is super simple
here's a step by step I did
dress instructions, insructions are here in number and pic's are numbered to match
http://s16.photobucket.com/albums/b24/suzydaze/new%20dress/ 1) buy the elestic thread
2) get a couple bobbins to hand wind the thread onto.
3)cut your fabri to size (you'll need about 2 times the width (i cut off 17 inches and hemed the top
4)take the hand wind bobbin and put into your machine just like a regular bobbin
5)then start at the edge just under your hem you just made and start sewing all the way across
6) your first roll will look like this
7) the more rolls you make the tighter it will get and I use my presser foot as a guide for each line
8) 2 lines {rolls} looks like this
9) be sure to leave some straings haning don't trim all the way back to the fabric yet,
10) don't stretch it, just let it walk it's self and it'll look great.
11) see it gathering it's self, more rolls more gathers and tighter.
12) when you have enough {I didn't do alot because my grandbaby is small} sew the sides togather and now you can clip those threads.
13) ready for strapes
14 measure down 2 inches and cut a strip all the way across
15) this is for your straps
16) fold over and sew all the way down
17) take a pin and turn it now
18) now fold in have and make 2
19)fold in half again and cut and make 4 (these are your straps)
20) sew them on the dress
21)I tied a knott in the end of each strap to finish off, you can hem if you like
22)finished dress
