Yep Carol, we'll get some sand---although in my research someone said that since sand sinks and shifts it's better to go to a home store and get sheets of styrofoam. I never would've thought of that. But I'm sure we'll just get sand.
I did buy Athena a pair of Lil Bratz arm floats and a swim ring.
there are different types of sand. maybe you could get some stabilized sand, which I think is also called contractors sand. that stuff stays put. we put SOME sand down under ours but I wished we'd have put more. we had some big roots that found their way up. they poked at the liner but none of them punctured a hole.

Well, Mark has to really level a spot out good. We live on a hill and our yard is sloped, not steeply sloped but sloped enough that it needs a good leveling.
He might start on that tonight.
On the box it says, ready for water in 45 minutes. My best friend just got a pool too, and she said yeah right.... Theirs is up, but it didn't take 45 minutes.
Our weather here this week is cool, so it will be good to get it up now. 60's today and tomorrow, then into the 70's. Nice break from that 90 plus weather we had.
Belinda....love your pool, guess you get a lot of use out it! Do you get in it a lot?
we are in the pool everyday unless it rains. My other daughter has been coming over and bringing the baby and swimming with us

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.
Hey you are all invited anytime! I have 2 spare bedrooms, and mom has THREE spare bedrooms!
And NO, no cups of hot water, although Athena thought we should do that.
Probably be in it tomorrow.....Maybe tonight if Athena pushes hard enough. I have 2 nice swimsuits that I didn't even get to wear last year and Athena has already decided I have to wear my red one.
you are downhill from us, so if I put Maxi in my lap and hung our stuff on the back of my chair, we could probably coast the entire way and be there in no time at all!
Gee ~ remember when Afgrey used to talk about driving a tractor and pulling all of us members around the country?
A forum circus train, that's what it'd be!

Come on down Merme, the more the merrier. I can just see you coasting on your chair.
We are heading out to try it out, I figure the worst that can happen is Athena will finally realize it's still not really warm....the top is, but the bottom isn't.
Loz, get yourself a couple more hula hoops. Put a large black plastic trash bag over each of them and seal them. Toss those into your pool. It is a nice solar heater, very affordable. When you swim take them out. Toss them back in any time you are not swimming. They help a lot keeping a pool an even warm temp.

Yay!!! Glad to see you got it up and running Loz! It will feel really nice when the hot weather comes! I'm sure Athena was very excited! Well you too for that matter!
Loz - you guys did such a nice job on that! It looks sooooo inviting!
Especially today - I've been outside gardening all day and am soaked to the bone - I can't believe it's too cold to go in your pool today - I'd be in there in a second!
Belinda....our pool didn't come with a cover, I'm going to have to order one online soon---but we don't get too many bugs. Mostly June bugs that I skim out in the morning. A few a day.
I did just buy a vacuum and a bigger swim tube and beach ball.
