I've put up a pic on www.picturetrail.com/sharwood Album: My Garden 2008.
2 weeks ago I had a terrible hail storm here, it ripped my garden apart.
Yeah, I cried, lol. The storm ripped off some branches from my rhododendron,
which wasn't doing well anyways. It had weak long branches and only 2 flowers
this year. I cut off the broken branches, and there is a bit of new growth coming from the bottom of the main stem. I only cut down 1/2 the branches, and now I need to know if I should cut the rest too. In the pic, you'll see it's half cut.
The next pic is a hosta I was given. The rips in the leaves are from the hail.
All my little annuals (fillers) got flattened, btw. Does anyone know what kind of hosta this is? The leaves are huge! A friend gave it to me.
On a positive note for the hailstorm, the torn up plants have all kinds of new growth coming up, and my assortments of sedum got torn up, but the little pieces are rooting all over the garden. I needed ground-filler, and now I have
a nature chosen spread of all sorts.

If you are interested, the other pics are a tour of the gardens/pond I've been building here. It's my second summer, the only flowers/plants were a rhubarb patch in the rocks and weeds. I am having so much fun, bought fish
for the pond today. :-) Bought a rose bush and weigela on sale, so cool.
Had trees cut to let sun into the pond, the water lilys need sun to flower.
Thanks in advance for any advice....
Sharon

Hi Sharon, the weather has been nasty. I lost alot of my gardens last year when we were hit by the tail end of a tornado and hail. It is discouraging.

Your rhododendren will be fine as it is. You have a lovely garden also.

Does your hosta have a blue tinge to it? By the way...wait til fall or spring to move that little hosta. Just dig it out deep with a lot of dirt around it and plop it in it's new place.

~~Tam~ You can bury all your troubles by digging in the dirt.
