It's alot of work, takes about an hour to pick enough to make a small bottle of jam. They are so tiny but free for the pickin' in a few fields. That's a berry next to a dime to give you an idea.

And here's the bowl just waiting to be cleaned to make jam in the morning...probably got enough for 6 bottles today.

We have some popping here too . . . I just leave them for the birds though.

I like wild strawberry for the leaf it makes - makes a nice little cluster in my rock garden.

It's 91*F at the moment and it's 8pm. Holy cr@p, I'm not used to hot weather.....and I don't even own a pair of shorts Dodge lol I am definately picking up a few pairs as soon as I can get to town.

My energy is almost back Lynne, I am feeling so much better now. I picked 3 cups of wild berries this morning to make strawberry shortcakes later.

We found some wild strawberries in our woods here but just a small patch of them though. This is the first year we have noticed them. The blackberries will be ripe soon and I will go out and pick them and make something. I made jam last year but not sure what I will do this year. It takes so many of them to make anything. They are behind this year too so it is going to be hot out there picking. Have to wear jeans and long sleeves because they are wild and have to walk through lots of weeds and the plants are thorny.

I picked raspberrys yesterday and cooled them and we ate with cool whip for an evening snack......
Tame rasp.

We have red .. I still have some in the freezer from last week.

I wear an old pair of thin beige pajamas to pick berries, it's just the cotton top and pant set (something like a nurses uniform)...looks kinda funny but nice and cool to pick with.
