Thanks Junigirl & Tamara...... We fly ours till winter......I had a huger one last couple years and it is all in pieces...................... Hd made the pole..
Did you take your retired flag to a flag drop box?? The next town over has one and the boy scouts or the legion discards them in the proper way. I didn't know about the right way to do that until we saw the boy scouts doing it on tv once. They actually cut the flag apart into like 14 pieces....each the stripes and the blue field...and then they burn the pieces. I thought it was quite interesting.
The previous owners of our house said there is a pole base in the ground in the front yard next to the 7th stone in our walkway.....we haven't found it yet. I'm not sure if I want to put a pole up as it would be really close to the tree, but I do want to have a flag hanging from a porch post...I just want Stephen to put in a spot light to shine on it so that I don't have to take the flag down every night or when it rains.
Not let them lie and rot. Mine is still in the bed room , I was tryin to repair????
$24.00 then probably more now.. Burning is appropiate, but in town you cant burn...... They have a place.. I like the pole..........Leave it till snow flys.
