Although I have seen plenty of recipes and/or directions to make cakes and other desserts with a patriotic theme, the one my family and friends enjoy the most is a simple vanilla sheet cake decorated to look like an American Flag.

Fresh blueberries go in the upper left corner to resemble the Field of Blue, then bands of cut up strawberries are alternated with swatches of whipped cream to make the red and white stripes.

This is one of the easiest, festive cakes around but guests always enjoy it.

The kids like it if I add a Sparkler or two before it gets cut.

Anyone else have any patriotic themed drinks, desserts or other foods?

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.
