No one has started an olympic's thread...or did I miss it? I just love summer Olympics! thumbup Only trials going on right now, but we have a tv out on the porch (so others can watch tv, movies, play vidio games inside) just for olympics! clap
I caught some swimming over the weekend and then only tennis.
Anyone else watching the trials?
Anyone have competitors close to home that have made the rogister for the olympics?

We don't have tv, so I don't get to watch them this year....which is a bummer because I really love watching the swimming and diving. For the last summer olympics, we were vacationing in SC at the shore, but most of us watched ALOT of olympics that week!

I'll trade ya Jenn, I hate t.v.

DH watches the olympics though, he is a sports nut.

We are HUGE fans of the Olympics around here! I always have been since I was a kid and it tickles me endlessly that Maxi loves them too.

We enjoying rooting for ALL the athletes, knowing what an honor it is to simply participate in the games.

We decorate the house, keep Tally Sheets, read articles and watch interviews about the different athletes and their countries. I also let Maxi cut out pictures from magazines and hang them in the kitchen for inspiration and conversation.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

I was very pleased with our little community paper. a young man that went to high school here in town went to the trials. he didn't make it (by half a second in a track event) but the paper still glorified him and congratulated him.
I haven't seen any trials all week. maybe they only run those on the weekends? I'm just itching for this thing to get under way!

Yep it's a proud moment for everyone when their country wins a medal. I'm not even technically a US citizen but I get so full of pride when they are standing up there with the National Anthem playing.

I'm English, transplanted to the US when I was 7...so really the US is just about all I know. My home. But I still love seeing Great Britain win too! thumbup
