I planted some cantaloupe that is doing very well, but it's starting to reach into the area of my pepper plants, and it's sort of "taking over".
My dad said that I could cut back some of the vines, and that would "train" the plant to keep the blooms closer to the base of the plant. How would I go about doing this? Is this a good idea? Or should I build some sort of trellis?
I did read JJ94's post on the trellis for his cantaloupe, so I know I would need to built "hammocks" for the fruit. Sounds cute. :)

I have a very small space, so my cantaloupe plants are getting in my other plants' spaces even with the trellis. I tried moving the vines around before it had fruit on it but after that, I just started cutting the largest vines a bit shorter to keep it controlled. The plants get much larger than I thought.
